Otha (John) Blakley, age 88, of Corryton, passed away on May 17, 2017. He was born in Chevrolet, KY and later moved to Elk Valley, TN. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and a 32nd degree Mason, Member of Bright Hope Lodge # 557, York Rite, Knoxville Scottish Rites, and Kerbela Shrine Temple. He worked at McClellen AFB, Sacramento, CA as a master wood patternmaker, Superintendent of Non-Ferrous Foundry, and three pattern shops. Preceded in death by parents, Alonzo and Lucinda Shearer Blakley; sister, Fay Smith; and brother, Osco (Bill) Blakley; daughter, Shirley Fay Blakley. Survived by wife, Carol Francis Blakley; sons, Michael (Shelia) Blakley of Strawberry Plains, Daniel (Sandy) Blakley, Sandia Park, NM and Brian of Knoxville; daughters, Ruthann (Bob) Sperry, Meridian, Idaho, Gloria (Montie) Sanders of Rutledge, TN; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Nick and Sherry Voydanoff; special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Rachael, Stephen, Laura, and Monica. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 pm Monday with the service to follow at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr. with Pastor Wayne Davis officiating. The interment will be Tuesday at 11 am at Ft. Sumter Cemetery. Everyone should meet at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home by 10 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
