Sam E Butcher, 46, lost his battle with cancer on April 1, 2015. He was an inspiration to everyone with his never give up attitude. He spent 27 years doing what he loved: working on cars. In the last 3 years, he found his home at David's Commercial Tire.
Sam is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lane; mamaw, Elizabeth Smith; papaw, Willard Lynch; and great-grandmother, Cynthia Humphries. He is survived by wife of 26 years, Edith Butcher; children, Amanda and Cory Butcher; father, Harry Lane; brothers, Jesse Butcher; Greg Butcher and wife Barbara;...

Sam is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lane; mamaw, Elizabeth Smith; papaw, Willard Lynch; and great-grandmother, Cynthia Humphries. He is survived by wife of 26 years, Edith Butcher; children, Amanda and Cory Butcher; father, Harry Lane; brothers, Jesse Butcher; Greg Butcher and wife Barbara; and Justin Lane and wife Tiffany; many aunts and uncles, several brother- and sister-in-laws; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to many close family friends and his co-workers from David's and Firestone.
The family will receive friends 6-8pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 and everyone will meet for a graveside service 11am Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Both will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918.
